JILI Mega Fishing — big boss fish, small data pack
In Mega Fishing, huge bosses like an octopus and a crocodile fill the screen. They look great, but these big animations are exactly what cause lag and heat on cheap phones. When your data pack is running low at the end of the month, the questions are: how heavy is the game, and what happens to your shots if the network drops? This page covers the phone and data first, then the game rules.
Will Mega Fishing run on a cheap phone with little data?
Usually yes, with some preparation. The game is built in HTML5, so it opens in both the browser and the app. The first time, it has to download images, boss animations and sound. This is where most data goes and where the loading bar crawls. After that, play mostly sends small bits of shot and result data back and forth.
- First load: on Wi-Fi if you can. If loading gets stuck on mobile data, do not keep refreshing; it may start downloading from the beginning again.
- When a boss arrives: when the Mega Octopus or crocodile appears, lots of things move at once. Old phones drop frames right here. Fire less at that moment and let the phone catch up.
- Keep RAM free: close background apps before playing. With little RAM and other apps open, the game can suddenly reload.
- Sound and brightness: music off and slightly lower brightness make the battery last longer.
- Break when hot: long sessions heat the processor, even more while charging. Take a few minutes' break.
- No airplane mode: do not switch data off mid-game to save data. Losing the connection mid-round only adds trouble.
An easy way to check whether the network is stable: before opening the game, open another light website. If that is slow too, the problem is the network, not the game. On a bus or on the move the tower keeps changing, so the connection keeps dropping. It is better not to play fishing games then. Play sitting in one place with a good signal. Check your phone's data usage page before and after playing to see how much data the game takes on your phone.
What happens to my shot money if the network cuts out mid-round?
Mega Fishing's rules say that if a shot misses for reasons outside your control, such as a disconnection, that shot's bet is refunded. But rules can differ between lobbies and versions, so read that line in your own game's help once.
What to do when the network drops: do not keep tapping the screen. When the network is back, leave the game and enter the lobby again. Check your balance and game history. If the numbers do not match, tell the lobby live chat with the time, game name and a screenshot: customer service guide.
How do you play Mega Fishing?
Tap anywhere in the play area and the cannon fires that way. The cost of each shot depends on your bet level. Use plus to raise the level and minus to lower it. When a fish dies, the prize is your bet level times that fish's multiplier. Some special weapons and special fish are calculated differently — that is written in the help.
The player who kills the fish gets the prize. Other players may be at the same table. In some lobbies you pick a room or hall before the game opens. Bet ranges can differ by room. Start with the most basic room.
This page does not give numbers for each fish's value. Nobody knows in advance when a fish will die. Before playing, open the help/paytable from the menu and check:
- The multipliers for normal and special fish.
- The cost per shot for the torpedo, railgun and Thunderbolt.
- The smallest and largest bet levels in your room.
- How shots are handled if the connection drops.
- How the octopus wheel prize is counted.
On slow data the help images take a while to load. Once it has fully loaded, take a screenshot. Later you can check it without spending data.
When are the torpedo, railgun and Thunderbolt useful?
- Torpedo: a strong hit on one chosen fish. It costs several times a normal shot.
- Railgun: spreads like a laser and also hits nearby fish. Useful when many fish are grouped, but it costs even more.
- Thunderbolt: hits every visible fish on screen. Normal shots fill an energy meter. When the meter is full, you get a free Thunderbolt.
The exact cost of each weapon is shown next to it in the game or in the help. An expensive weapon does not mean bigger wins — only a bigger cost per shot. On slow data, if the result is late after firing an expensive weapon, do not tap it again. You could be charged twice instead of once.
What do the Mega Octopus and special fish do?
This game's main draw is its bosses and "effect fish".
- Starfish: when killed, makes a whirlpool that can pull in nearby fish.
- Bomb Crab: drops several bombs that explode.
- Drill Crab: releases a drill that moves around the screen and explodes at the end.
- Immortal bosses: some bosses such as a shark, an anglerfish or a big turtle never die. As long as they are on screen, hitting them can pay.
- Giant crocodile: when killed, it "awakens" and attacks fish around it.
- Mega Octopus: the main boss. Beat it and a bonus wheel spins. From there you may get a chance at a second, golden wheel.
We do not give the maximum the wheel or boss fish can pay — check the help/paytable. Remember that a boss can take many shots. Chasing a boss until your balance is gone is a very common mistake.
How do you start Mega Fishing with a small balance?
Start with the smallest bet level and the basic room. For the first few minutes fire only normal shots and watch how the energy meter fills. Torpedo and railgun can wait. Set a budget before you play and stop when it runs out. General ideas about fishing games: fishing game guide.
Some lobbies list Mega Fishing under JILI, others under TaDa. Type the game name into the lobby search; if you cannot find it, what the lobby shows is final. Other games: games list. Deposit only in the lobby cashier: payments page. If you want the app, get it only from the lobby's button: download guide.
Does everyone get the free Thunderbolt?
Each player's own energy meter fills as they fire normal shots. When the meter is full, you can use it. Nobody can say exactly how many shots it takes.
Why do my shots hit the fish late?
On a weak network the server's reply arrives late, so there is a gap between shot and result. When that happens, keep your bet level low and turn auto-shoot off.
Should I play in the browser or the app?
The same account works in both. If your phone is short on space, the browser is enough, but close other tabs. If you play regularly, the app is usually a bit smoother.
What is the difference between Mega Fishing and Jackpot Fishing?
Both are JILI fishing games. Mega Fishing puts more weight on big bosses like the octopus wheel and the crocodile. Jackpot Fishing's main draw is its progressive jackpot. More: Jackpot Fishing guide.
Someone is selling a "boss fish trick". Should I buy it?
No. Every shot's result is random and no trick can change it. Offers like this are usually a trap to take your money or account.
Mega Fishing is entertainment, not a way to earn. If you feel like raising your bet to chase a boss, stop. Set time and money limits first: responsible play.
