There is one safe place to get the app — the Android or iOS button in the official lobby. This guide site gives out no APK. Avoid outside APK sites, mod apps and "update" links.

Download steps

1. Open the official lobby.
2. Find the Android or iOS button in the header or on the home screen.
3. Android: you may need to let your browser install from unknown sources. Turn that permission off again after installing.
4. iOS: follow the lobby's instructions. Profile or store steps are shown in the lobby.
5. Open the app and log in with the same mobile number.

When your phone is low on storage

Older Android phones are often full. If the install says "failed", free up space first.

• Delete old WhatsApp videos and photos.
• Uninstall apps you do not use.
• Delete old APK files in the Downloads folder.
• After installing you can delete the downloaded APK too. The app stays.

Downloading on slow data

If the network drops while the file downloads, the file can break. The install then shows an error like "problem parsing the package". Delete the half-downloaded file and download again from the lobby button. Use Wi-Fi if you can.

When an app update arrives

Download new versions from the lobby button too. Do not tap "urgent update" links that arrive by SMS, WhatsApp or an unknown page. Installing the new version over the old one usually keeps you logged in. If not, enter your password again, so keep it written somewhere safe. Check you have free space before updating.

Permissions to refuse
